The volume was released on the occasion of the opening of the Gallery of Ancient Art in a new arrangement in December 2020. The pieces selected are the most interesting and precious objects from the ancient art collection housed at NMW, the use and significance of which in Antiquity is similar as in modern times. These often striking associations permit to capture feelings, behaviours, tastes and beliefs that we, living in modern times, have in common with the people of Antiquity.
