GUIDED TOURS IN ENGLISH / Women of Polish design
Saturday / 1pm
tour guide: Lena Lewandowska
The 1960s are often referred to as the golden age of Polish design. Women played a significant role in shaping the success of the style known as the Polish New Look. Danuta Duszniak’s “Kolumb” coffee set, Hanna Orthwein’s porcelain animal figurines produced by the Institute of Industrial Design, and Zofia Galińska’s “Kajtek” tableware set are icons of Polish design and highly sought-after objects among contemporary collectors. During the tour in the Gallery of Polish Design, we will take a closer look at these remarkable objects and learn more about the outstanding women who designed them.
