In May 2012 the National Museum in Warsaw will be celebrating its 150th anniversary. We are presently preparing for the special day: the main building on Jerozolimskich Avenue is closed to the public for a top-to-bottom rearrangement of the interiors and the permanent galleries; a schedule of temporary exhibitions is being planned, and a concept for the future development of the National Museum in Warsaw is under development. It will become a truly modern cultural institution, responding to the needs of modern visitors and open to new ways of interacting with art.
